CS SUMMIT Los Angeles

CS Summit is the first Counter-Strike:Global Offensive event that will be organised by Beyond the Summit, known for hosting Dota 2 events with great success. The CS tournament will be will be taking place on the 19th April through 23rd April in Los Angeles, California. The top CS:GO teams around the world will be competing for their share of the $150K prize.

Beyond the Summit have hosted more than ten events over the past two years and the CS Summit will have more of a laid-back approach. The professional players will get to take an active role in the broadcast, commenting on the esports matches. Unlike other traditional live events, the players will get to connect with fans, share some insight on Counter-Strike, interview personalities and share the humour behind the scenes.

A few of the participating teams include:

SK GAMING

SK performed well at the DreamHack Masters Vegas, winning over North, Navi, Cloud 9 CSGO and Tyloo. On reaching the finals, they lost against Virtus.Pro coming to a close second place. They recently participated in Eleague’s Major and Season 2 events finishing third to fourth place. Add to this their attendance at the IEM Oakland and the ESL Pro League Season 4 going through to the finals. In the beginning of February 2017, Fnx left SK Gaming and was replaced by felps. Will they keep up to their expectations at the CS Summit?

OPTIC GAMING

They won first prize in the Eleague Season 2 beating Astralis taking a worthy prize of $400K. Optic reached the finals again at the next event, Esports Championship Series Season 2 finishing second. They have recently competed in premier tournaments like Dreamhack Masters Vegas and the Eleague Major 2017. The team captain, Stanislaw left Optic and NAF has taken on the role of the in-game leader. With the new change in place, do you think that the players will improve on their mistakes in time for this tournament?

CLOUD 9

The North American CS:GO team have competed at several prestigious events such as Eleague Major playoffs, Esports Championship Series Season 2 and Intel Extreme Masters Oakland. Clouds 9 have had their highs and lows through 2016, fighting their way to make it through the group stage. Since the win at the ESL Pro League Season 4 winning the first prize against SK Gaming, C9 have failed to qualify past the group stage. With the new coach, Valens that lately joined in February 2017, will the CS:GO team step up their game strategies?

The CS Summit will invite eight teams to compete, three of which have already been announced. The qualifying five CS:GO squads and format of the tournament have yet to be revealed. Stay tuned.
