Athen ‘Aythen’ Zhu

Athen ‘Aythen’ Zhu is a 22-year-old professional gamer hailing from California. He is currently playing the supportive role for Immortals OW. He made a name for himself performing his best game plays on Zenyata and Ana.

Aythen is the clear-minded support for his team that at times, he corrects their in-game mistakes. Zhu’s quick thinking and his clever strategies have made him the rock, his unit can lean on while improving and helping his unit win OW tournaments.

Where it all began:

World of Warcraft video game

In Athen’s younger days, he dedicated his free time to playing computer games like World of Warcraft. Casually playing WoW among his friends, trying to beat them to be a better competitor. Overwatch was released in May 2016 and Athen was one of the first few to try out the game and has since never stopped gaming.

The Team:

Immortals is an American esports organisation that was founded in October 2015. The club is widely known for their success in League of Legends and have expanded to support units in CS:GO, Overwatch, Smash and VainGlory.

Immortals Company acquired the former Sodipop OW roster in September 2016 in time for their very first competition, the Overwatch Open. The IMT OW squad consists of GrimReality, Agilities, Hyped, nomy, Aythen and Verbo.

Competition Participation:

Aythen and his team Immortals have participated in the Major Overwatch Carbon Series, Alienware Monthly Melee: February, BaseTradeTV Cup, Carbon Masters November 2016 as well as the Overwatch Open.

OW Open

The IMT squad have had the experience of beating some of the world’s top teams like Luminosity, Selfless Gaming and Cloud 9.

Winnings:

The greatest achievement for Aythen and his team Immortals was winning the Overwatch Winter Premiere. IMT OW won the major title from Ghost Gaming with the record 3:1, scooping up a prize of $40K.
